Slow Burn...

...slower computer.

Kyle and I ordered parts for my computer a few days ago, and I picked my monitor up about an hour ago...it's really big. I feel like I should be more excited about it, but...I'm getting it more for work than for fun I guess. Soon as we get something better than dial-up up in here, I'll be all set. I downloaded a video from oldeenglish.com last night- a five minute video took over an hour to get, in addition to the two hours it took to download Quicktime so I could play it in the first place. Not good times. At least it means I'll be at home more often to work on it.

So I saw Resident Evil: Apocalypse today. I expected it to be worse, since Ben nearly walked out of it, which is something Ben doesn't do. He can usually find at least one good quality of a movie and focus on it, but anyways...it was definitely better than the first one. More of a plot this time around.

I need a barn. If anybody has access to one, tell me right away.

Movie of the Day: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Why it rocks: It poses a good question...would we erase things from our memory if we could?
Re-watch value: Low-ish.
Is it really that good?: Pretty much.

Keep it.

The Italian Job...

...is better than the Hollywood job.

Shooting continues Sunday. Finally. I've also been throwing together some ideas for when Clymaxxfilms.com gets set up. I want to make like some five-minute shorts to put on there, like they do at www.oldeenglish.org (check out the gym class video if you have time). I'll get started on that stuff as soon as Kyle and I can order me a computer.

I also found out how to get pictures on here, but I have to download a program, which I'll also do when I get my computer.

Hudy got hired at Hollywood, along with another girl, which marks the end of the first generation of Hollywood Video employees. We'll see how generation 2 goes. Not that I notice so much, I usually just open alone. Which gives me lots of video game playtime. I played a bunch of Second Sight today, which wasn't so great. Decent idea, but not so great. You wake up in a hospital, all messed up, then flashback to six months earlier, where you learn how to shoot a gun. Mmmyeah.

Okay, it's Battlefront time.

Movie of the Day: Team America: World Police
Why it rocks: It's gonna be the best political movie EVER.
Re-watch value: I don't know, it doesn't come out till October.
Is it really that good?: " "

Keep it.

Lost in Translation...

...of RAM and frustration.

I had quite a blog written just a bit ago, but this computer is crap. Summary:

Check out www.pydepiper.blogspot.com. Sept. 12th is one of my favorites.

Here's Jen's journal too. http://www.livejournal.com/users/whisper_child/

How much money would it take for you to kill a puppy with your bare hands? Comment back.

Keep it.

An Intimate Friendship...

...that has just begun.

So Kristin comes in the office today and just busts out with, "So Tim, do you like me, are we friends?" I thought for a moment and replied, "Yes, not yet." She seemed a bit confused, which let to a lengthy conversation about friendship and what she expects of me. Apparently she thought we were better friends than I did, so she made me sign a contract saying we were friends forever. Keep in mind this is about an hour after I wrote her up for kicking me.

Good times.

Started watching the Star Wars DVDs akristinrulest Brent's house yesterday; they were awesome, except for the commentary from the two guys behind me who insisted on saying everything they thougth was funny. I tried to block most of it out, but I do remember a mixture of Tarantino and Lucas in the form of, "DOES JABBA THE HUTT LOOK LIKE A B*TCH!?" I also saw most of some boring movie called The Cotton Club at Bonnie's. Lots of celebrities lookin' very young in that movie.

Life continues.

Movie of the Day: Jumanji
Why it rocks: Family adventure at its best. And proof that Kirsten Dunst used to be hot.
Re-watch value: Not bad
Is it really that good?: Not too much of a life lesson to be found, but for entertainment's sake, it's great.

Keep it.

Working Girl...

...we just got a new one.

Trained the new girl at the Budge tonight. That went pretty well; her twin sister starts training next week. Kayla picked up pretty quickly, I felt comfortable leaving her alone by the end of the night. She's a nice kid, but apparently doesn't care too much for movies. She did, however, pick up on my Star Wars appreciation; she saw my braid and...
"Yeah, my brother loves Star Wars too."
"Oh yeah? How old is he?"
"Nine."

So that was nice and comfortable...not...

Dannie and I shot the hot tub scene last night; I watched it to make sure the mic was working and stuff, and ended up being much more pleased with it than I had expected to be. The only problem being that apparently she doesn't want to film anything without Rain, and we differ a bit on that issue...

Oh yeah, and from now on, you all must refer to me as Britney Spears Dance Beat God. BSDBG for short. I got a 278 combo on audition 8...that would be not missing a single button for like five minutes on a hard level for all you non-video-game-folk. Then someone unpaused my vs. Britney dance, which rather pissed me off.

Movie of the Day: The Girl Next Door
Why it rocks: You go in expecting some stupid jokes and nudity, but there's a half way decent plot, and it's almost a feel good movie.
Re-watch value: I'd have to say higher than average, at least.
Is it really that good?: I think I'd barely call it good.

Keep it.

Goodbye Lover...

...oh that's right, we never were.

Filming is kinda on its feet again. I've been working with Dannie for the last few days, and so far I'm pleased with her work. She's a bit sheepish on volume, but she's acting well. We're going to Madison on Monday, and right after that she starts her new job, so...we'll see what happens with filming. Looks like I'll be able to get some stuff done this weekend too.

I had the opportunity to see a movie today for once. I went to Ridge to see The Manchurian Candidate (a tad slow, but pieced together masterfully), and I found out that they're like remodeling the entire place. Apparently they're going with a classy look, with no banners or standees, and very few posters on the walls. I'm not too keen on the whole thing, but as long as it doesn't suck, I guess I can give it a try.

Tanya's last days of work are this weekend. Our last day working together was tonight, which was sad, but I told her she'd come crawling back. They always come back. We watched most of A Cinderella Story together and threw popcorn seeds and hot dogs at each other. It was sweet.

Movie of the Day: The Legend of Bagger Vance
Why it rocks: Best era golf drama ever!
Re-watch value: Probably not too high...
Is it really that good?: I think so, yeah...I can't imagine everyone thinking so, but I thought it was pretty cool.

Keep it.

Rent-a-Cop...

...No seriously, it's really a movie.

Some club. The place looked abandoned or something, and the front door was open and you could see stools and stuff, but it was completely dark and scary. So, negative on the clubbin' action.

Instead, Kara and I went and wrote "Rent-a-cop" on Raina's truck window in toothpaste. That made me happy. Most people gave me sprinkles for it, but Rain didn't seem too happy. Next time I think I'll write "Angry rent-a-cop." What? Oh, the toothpaste thing? Eh, don't ask.

Filming resumes tomorrow with scene 4. I feel good about it. And probably some filming during the Packer game at Brent's. This week looks to be packed with moviemaking.

Movie of the Day: Shaolin Soccer
Why it rocks: Take Matrix, Kill Bill, Ladybugs, and a lousy Chinese martial arts movie. Mate them.
Re-watch value: Once is probably enough.
Is it really that good?: I don't think so, but...no wait...no, no it's not.

Keep it.

The Joy Luck Club...

...is nothin' compared to this.

So Kara and I should be on our way down to Club Safari tonight for some...clubbin'... action. Apparently it's for 17 and older, which makes me think that there might be like a separate area for people 21 and older. I guess we'll see, but I don't think there's gonna be a bouncer checking to see if you're young enough either.

Filming should resume on Monday-ish. I am oft-reminded of how little time I have every time I get out of work and almost shiver.

I am planning on getting a computer of my own soon, so if I do and can figure out how to get pictures on here, I can start posting production photos etc., so people have more to look at than my short meaningless blogs. But don't expect those for like a month or something.

I had this dream the other night that these pigs or people were throwing logs at me and a bunch of people...we were in a field and the logs just start landing all around us...those pigs had darn good aim. Anyway we ran to a barn so we wouldn't have logs landing on us. Then it was like the first day of senior year of high school and Legolas was doing some introduction speech and Melissa from the Budge was there and they had to say goodbye to each other and they kissed goodbye in front of everyone. Then Matt and I were looking for lockers, and even though we always got lockers next to each other, Matt got one that didn't have an open one near it and I was freaking out because every locker I tried to get was either broken or locked or had stuff in it...I think that was about it.

Movie of the Day: Jurassic Park
Why it rocks: Spielberg sci-fi genius.
Re-watch value: Very high.
Is it really that good?: Yes. The book was better though.

Keep it.

It Happened One Night...

...not too long ago.

Production has come to an unexpected halt; I haven't shot anything since last Thursday, no thanks to an actor of mine. Ben and I will be shooting some stuff tomorrow, and supposedly Will and Lex have some stuff to get through on Friday. The weather won't be pleasant for long.

Went and saw Anna a few times last week, as she just went back to school for her fourth and far-from-final year (med. school, etc.). She's doing well, keeping everyone sane as usual. It's amazing how much of a people-person she is; strange that we get along so well. I suppose opposites attract? I do have one anecdote- her father awakened around 12:30 to have some ice cream; we declined, which apparently disappointed him because, as he informed us, he doesn't like eating ice cream alone. I told him that if his heart was set on it, I'd have some with him, to which he replied, "Atta boy." He scooped two bowls, gave one to me, picked up the other bowl, and left the room for the rest of the night. I think he was sleepwalking.

I'm THIS FRICKING CLOSE to beating stupid Metal Slug 3...it has GOT to be the WORST GAME EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The stupid game is so stupid that it...just...SUCKS! Level 5 is like an HOUR LONG. AN HOUR! How are you supposed to beat that??? HOW? On like 4 LIVES!?!? Seriously, it's gotta be a worse game than that thing where you push a thing on the ice and you have to sweep in front of it...and that's pretty terrible.

Enough.

Movie of the Day: Flight of the Navagator
Why it rocks: 80's family sci-fi classic.
Re-watch value: Low-ish
Is it really that good?: It's got some good stuff, definitely worth a watch or two.

Keep it.

Arachnophobia...

...sucks whens there's spiders in your way.

Scraped my arms all up filming on a rusty spider bridge. Seriously, I think every species of spider recorded lives on it. And then some. There were these crazy folding spiders that like put all their legs together so they didn't look like spiders- they even fooled Zach, but I knew they were out for blood. Stupid folding spiders.

It's so disappointing when really all I can think to write about is filming. Like seriously, my life is work and filming. That's it. I actually saw a movie today. I didn't mean to, I intended on filming, but my actress likes ignoring my phone calls, so that kinda fell through.

I'm too tired for this.

Movie of the Day: Zoolander
Why it rocks: Actually I'm not sure it does. But it's like Brent's favorite movie, so...
Re-watch value: Ask Brent.
Is it really that good?: See above.

Keep it.

Hair...

...way underrated.

As life has become increasingly busy over the last few weeks with filming and such, my blogging time has obviously gone down. I have one final scene to type up so I can get my script to people, then hopefully I will at least be able to post every Wednesday and Friday night. But every day that I don't work is spent filming- yesterday my scout and I went running up the Kinnickkinnick (sp?) river. It was quite exhausting, especially when my camera got soaked. Apparently water splashes when you fall into it.

So Ellynne cut her hair. All of it. She did leave a Jedi braid, which is cool, but I think that's cheating. At least I'm growing mine out patiently.

I had these dreams the other night where my family kept dying. First my parents got in a car accident and died, then these people came into my house and killed my family, but I found Rachel still alive downstairs and was all happy that she wasn't dead. She says my movies are too violent. I say they're pretty tame compared to a lot of the crap that's out there.

Anyways...oh, I'm *tentatively* planning William Steel Trilogy calendars for 2005, but I hear they're rather expensive. So in the event that they come to like $25.00, y'all are gonna have to let me know if you're interested. I'm making at least one for myself, but I'm sure they're gonna make great Christmas gifts. And since I'll probably have most/all of the filming done by then, there'll be a lot of promotional material out, like posters, video games, t-shirts, etc...So let me know if you want any of those, either. However, since promotional material doesn't break any copyright laws, I *will* be selling those for cost. Or perhaps profit; we'll see how much it'll be for me to make that stuff. Enough.

Movie of the Day: Lost in Space
Why it rocks: Matt Leblanc and Heather Graham could still pull off teenagers.
Re-watch value: Not too high
Is it really that good?: Not so much. Worth a watch, but not so much.

Keep it.
