For Love of the Game...

...and the characters within.

Well, here I am, in the office chair at the Budge, reclaiming my duties in the working world, succeeding my dearly needed vacation. I continue tomorrow morning at Hollywood. Why....why?

"Why, Mr. Anderson, why? Why do you do it? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something? For more than your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it for freedom, or truth, perhaps peace- could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson, vagaries of perception. Temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify a existence that is without meaning or purpose. And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself! Although, only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson, you must know it by now- you can't win, it's pointless to keep fighting! Why, Mr. Anderson, why, why do you persist?"

There's a little Matrix dialogue to keep you thinking. Here's an interesting tidbit of info. from the latest GI: Bloodrayne and Luba Licious (from Leisure Suit Larry) have posed nude for the October issue of Playboy. I'm not too keen on that, as I think it's far from Rayne's "personality" to pose nude. Or, topless, at least. I'm not sure, I don't read Playboy. Don't get me wrong; if I had to choose a gameworld girl to come to life, Rayne would be near the top of the list. But play the game, or even see the movie (due out in 2005, starring Kristanna Loken and Ben Kingsley), and I think you'll agree- she's not that way. A bit cynical, perhaps, but never slutty. I'm rather disappointed in her(?) for agreeing to that. Even the DOA creator wouldn't let his girls do that.

Enough on games. I don't think I have many readers who know what I'm talking about. Most Maxxketeers aren't gamers...enough.

Movie of the Day: Fight Club
Why it rocks: Messes with your head just the right amount.
Re-watch value: High the first time, lower after a few viewings.
Is it really that good?: Name one Brad Pitt movie that isn't. Or Norton movie for that matter.

Keep it.

Lucky Numbers...

...that aren't good for squat.

Due to the loss of Katie and the low number of friends to call for rides, I've spent approximately the last 11 hours on my computer. This is why I'm posting twice in one day (yes I know it's the 3rd, but I haven't gone to bed yet, which makes it the 2nd until I do so). So what have I accomplished?

Number of CDs ripped to the comp.: 18
Number of songs sorted through: 440
Number of calls recieved: 2
Number of calls made: 3
Number of Pepsis consumed: 1 (gasp!)
Number of wallpapers downloaded: 1
Number of Olde English videos watched: 1.5
Number of webpages visited: 101 (counting pages within sites)
Number of missions completed in Jedi Knight II: 2
Number of useful things accomplished: 0

I went to West Allis Memorial Hospital the other night. One of the scenes in WS3 calls for Jamie to be wearing a hospital gown, as she had just escaped the hospital to help Will. The girl at the desk called a good 6 people to ask, but someone finally brought one down for me, free of charge...It's nice and cottony too.

Approximate number of hours before Halo 2 is in my hands: 60

Keep it.

Girl with a Pearl Earring...

...and a boy with a gold one.

Break time. Video games take a lot of work, ya know?

Well, Katie is once again at the local car-fixing place. I clearly remember saying, "So what happens when something else goes wrong and I can't go to school again?" Leave it to the parents to continually pretend that things are going to "get better." No they aren't.

Bought myself the Matrix soundrack and Ashlee Simpson's Autobiography album the other day for my birthday. And Ellynne got me a 14K white gold earring, which I'll be sure to put in when I'm done filming. Speaking of which...

Shooting the big climax this weekend. Where? I don't know. Worst comes to worst, I just keep Brent, Mike, Tanya, and Zach, and we shoot two other scenes instead. Filmed scene 14 last Sunday. So I have about 15 scenes fully shot, and it seems filming may take through spring to finish. I'm pondering the possibility of editing the scenes I do have before I finish filming. I don't like doing that; I'd rather complete one phase at a time, like I insist on finishing the script before I start shooting the scenes I have written. But...we'll see.

Episode III teaser trailer is set to release this Friday on The Incredibles. I'm sure it's just like Vader's helmet behind the ROTS title, but we'll see. I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to see it this weekend- Chucky 5 comes out, after all.

Movie of the day: Outbreak
Why it rocks: Realistic sci-fi suspense.
Re-watch value: Moderate
Is it really that good?: Sure.

Keep it.
