Happy Birthday...

...to me!

Unfortunately, my most recent post seems to have used up my creativity reserve for the month. So I *was* going to wait until I thought of something cool to write about, but I also had an urge to post today, as it is my birthday! Hooray! Usually I build up a bit of anticipation beforehand, so I'm really excited when the day comes, but my mind has been a bit preoccupied with insurance and retarded universities. See "Return of the Jedi" post for details.

But it's here, and I already sang myself "Happy Birthday," and I'm going to see Team America in less than 12 hours, and then I get to buy myself a birthday present and perhaps wrap it for added excitement during cake and ice cream.

Oh! And some other exciting news-for being a Hollywood employee, I get to rent a copy of Halo 2 a week from today (that's 4 days before street date, folks)! The boys at the Budge are gonna be JEALOUS! I'll have to bring it around to all my friends so they can get an early taste of it too. Expect a nice long post about that when it comes time.

As much as I'd love to continue, I *do* have to get up early in the morning (shut up, 10:30 is rough when you work 'till midnight) so I can have a full b-day. Toodles!

(Did I seriously just write that word?)

Movie of the Day: Coffee and Cigarettes
Why it rocks: It's a movie about expectations in relationships.
Re-watch value: Low, low, low.
Is it really that good?: It's worth a watch. *A* watch.

Keep it.

Return of the Jedi...

...or, of the Padawan, rather...Jedis lose the braids.

(three, two, aaand- you're on!)
Hello Maxxketeers, and welcome back to the show! We apologize for the delay, but we're back on the air and ready to shovel out countless more hours of updates and entertainment. But first, here's Will with the lastest on Project Redemption. Will?
(cut to Will)
Greetings viewers, it seems delays are rampant this side of 'Sconsin, as WS3 has taken a few weeks of downtime. The lastest delay being that the location of the November 7th shoot is still as of yet undetermined. The most recent hopeful has announced that a $1,000,000 insurance coverage plan would be necessary for utilization of the grounds...the hunt continues. Maxx?

Thanks Will. That's a bit of sad news, but for the brighter side, we go to Tim for another update.
(cut to Tim)
Thank you Maxx. Well, the computer is up and running; most of the necessary programs have been installed, connection to the Internet has been made, and I'm becoming reaquainted with the editing world. My latest project has been the completion of The Last Kutschera Vacation, a video shot last Summer in and around Door County. No, not many complaints about the computer, except its tendency to turn on. By itself. That issue is being looked into. Back to you.
(cut to Will)
I TOLD YOU, I'M NOT BUILDING SOME CHEAP LOOKING SET-
(cut to Maxx)
Our apologies. Well, things certainly seem to be looking up at the Kutschera home, thanks to the new computer. In other news, a local college hopeful is in a rush to get the right classes. Here's what he had to say:
(cut to college hopeful)
Well, I'm really looking forward to going, as long as it's not another waste of time, ya know? I mean it's a good $6,000+ semester, so I have a phone interview with a professor over there tomorrow afternoon. Apparently I don't have an advisor yet, and some woman told me it's 'cuz I haven't actually, uh, got "student status" yet. I don't know what that means, but anyway, this guy I'm talking to is gonna tell me what classes to sign up for and stuff, and that's on the day, um, that registration begins, so I'll have to hurry-
(cut to Maxx)
Well, good luck to you, we certainly hope Calvin accepts you and treats you well. Now let's take a short break, and we'll be right back.
(cut to commercial)
Extra tapes for footage of cast members who can't make up their minds: $40.
Being required to have insurance coverage for holding a camera: $350.
Getting arrested for not breaking the law: $572.
Laughing at them all when you finish and they hand you money for a copy of the DVD: Priceless.
Some things you can't afford. For everything else, there's Willpower.

Thanks Yahoo. And now for the moment you've all been waiting for, that possibly-opinionated-but-always-right portion of the show: the Movie of the Day!
(cut to animated screen)
Movie of the Day: I (heart) Huckabees
Why it rocks: Wonderful scripting and deep thinking make this a philosopher's must.
Re-watch value: Give it a few weeks, and relatively high.
Is it really that good?: Definitely. Very very good, even if it doesn't fit your taste.
(cut to Maxx)
Heh heh, she said f*ckabees. Ahem. And now we come to tonight's top story. I'm taking a vacation! It all started about a week ago, as I reviewed my potential college classes. I realized; I work at a movie theater and a video store, I spend most of my free time thinking about filming, and I'm going to college to take all film courses.
(cut to cam. 2)
I was on movie overload. I asked Sarah soon after if I could have my normal two shifts off for the first week of November. She had no problem with it, and neither did Brent at Hollywood, save for a basically mandatory inventory Saturday night.
(cut to cam. 3)
And that week also happens to fall just after I have this Friday off for my birthday, so it looks like I'm going to have 8 straight days off. I didn't take a single real vacation this Summer, let alone in the last two years, so I think I deserve it. I think maybe I'll go somewhere. Or just watch a buttload of movies. We-DANG* that sounds nice.
(cut to cam. 1)
Well, folks, that just about wraps it up for Maxxketeer Hour. Remember to stay tuned for updates and entertainment, and as always: Keep it.

*"We-DANG" TM Val Kansaku. See waterofdestruction for details.
